The 2016 IWCA Breakfast was a sold out event that celebrated achievements made by women throughout the coffee communities. With record attendance, we unveiled our Women In Coffee World online coffee buying platform, that let's roasters connect directly with women growers to purchase women grown coffees. See more here:

We had over 400 attendees representing 30 countries - coffee continues to break barriers between cultures, countries, ages and now gender!

The convention felt like the tipping point for gender equity awakening in ag commodities - everyone that attended now has a real responsibility to take action. If our goal is a sustainable future in coffee for generations to come, and we believe what the data is tell us then the IWCA is definitely positioned as the most viable and valuable connecting point to make that happen.

It was interesting to have the convention just after the peace agreement between Colombian President Juan Manual Santos and FARC, especially because many of these rural women want better for their families.

We were graterful for the generous support of the United Nations and World Trade Organization ITC.

The WCE All-Star Event was ground-breaking!

The IV IWCA Colombia Convention was a tremendous opportunity for networking, educational workshops, and mentoring. In that spirit, we would like to share some of the educational presentations, photo presentation, and letters from attendees. A big thank you to everyone who supported, taught, laughed, and shared with us. Your light feeds the dark spaces of the world.

Letters from Attendees:

As IWCA continues to grow, our events remain an important part of IWCA.

Our three main events, the Annual SCAA Expo Breakfast, the Annual NCA Convention Luncheon, and the Bi-Annual IWCA Convention, raise awareness and funds for women in coffee. Our events and accomplishments are often featured in media outlets and help tell the story of women in coffee.
