With the support from IWCA International and the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA), the IWCA Uganda Chapter has taken on an administrative assistant. Ms. Phylis Chesimol will serve in this role helping to assist IWCA Uganda President, Jane Magombe in organizing the activities for the newly formed chapter. UCDA has graciously provided an office space and has plans to offer further support later this year. Phylis has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Uganda Christian University, Mukono.  She describes herself as, God fearing, self-motivated, innovative, dependable, great problem solver and an advocate for women entrepreneurs. Previously she served as an intern with the Kapchorwa Commercial Farmers Association (KACOFA), whose vision is improving livelihoods through training farmers on good agricultural practices to increase productivity.  KACOFA links farmers to potential markets for their produce such as maize and barley and provides loans, seeds, and other farm inputs.  During Phylis’ time at the university she served as treasurer of “Yes We Can”, an organization that advocates for the end to violence against women.

Phylis has been a volunteer for the IWCA Uganda chapter over the past several months and happy to take on this role in a more official manner.
