From Doris Olaya, IWCA Germany (in formation): For us, coffee means gathering, friendship, happiness ... coffee time is a long-awaited moment, because it is a time to share, talk, catch up, and above all eat delicious things. In Germany, many families have the tradition of eating a cake with coffee in the afternoon, with the close or larger Family or friends. But coffee is also enjoyed for breakfast or brunch. In our close family, coffee is part of our breakfast, children know that without coffee there is no breakfast for dad and mom ... that dad needs it every morning to wake up and start functioning ... our son wants to drink coffee because his grandmother in Colombia gave it to him to taste and he loves it ... but in Colombia coffee is soft and by grandma it is sweetened with panela (sugarcane sweetener) ... here it is very strong, so we only allow him drinking a little quantity with milk from time to time ... coffee is a part of us.

From Marshalee Valentine, IWCA Jamaica: Working in the coffee industry was my first job after leaving college. My mom had worked so hard to get me a good education and I was happy to have initiated my career in such a remarkable Industry. Coffee has and is still exposing me to knowledge and opportunities that have and will continue to allow me to support my family, along with sharing experiences that will make them more compassionate towards the wider coffee community (which I also consider family!). Without the emotional support from them, I would not be able to explore the avenue of giving back to this now vulnerable but valuable community. They are my source of strength and support!

From Alda Cruz, IWCA UK (in formation): Stephen Hurst is the person responsible to change the path of my life and my career. When I left university, I was a labour lawyer, a political militant in Brazil . Now I am a Coffeehunter. It is really nice to have a boss and a husband who has very strong ethics in business and in life. We really do coffee for love. It is really satisfying to work for a committed company, which really supports sustainability and a guaranteed price for the producers; men and women; for almost 25 years.
