Welcoming New Board Members to IWCA Global
We’re pleased to welcome Jeff Daou and Masyitah Daud to the IWCA Global Board of Directors.
Each brings deep experience from different corners of the coffee world, along with a shared commitment to building a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient coffee value chain. Their perspectives strengthen IWCA at a moment when thoughtful leadership and collaboration matter more than ever.
Jeff Daou
Jeff’s path into coffee began in engineering, but a curiosity for quality and craft quickly turned into a career shaped by global experience. Over the years, his work has spanned café operations, roasting, quality control, and sourcing at origin. His advanced studies in Coffee Excellence at Zurich University of Applied Sciences further deepened his technical and sensory understanding of coffee.
Today, Jeff works with customers around the world at Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee, where he continues to explore how innovation, quality, and values can coexist. What consistently grounds his work is a belief in coffee as a connector—across cultures, communities, and supply chains—and a commitment to contributing to a more equitable future for the industry.
Jeff’s global perspective, technical background, and appreciation for the human side of coffee bring a valuable lens to IWCA’s board as we continue supporting women throughout the value chain.
Masyitah Daud
I am an experienced leader in the global coffee and agribusiness sector, with more than 30 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, commodity trading, and farmer development. I currently serve as Country Manager of the Starbucks Farmer Support Center, leading operations across Indonesia and the Asia Pacific to strengthen farmer capacity, improve coffee quality, and advance sustainability throughout the value chain.
In this role, I oversee agronomy and quality teams that deliver inclusive farmer training on Best Agricultural Practices, soil health management, and C.A.F.E. Practices. I also build and maintain strong partnerships with government agencies, farmer organizations, NGOs, and academic institutions to support long-term, scalable impact. Prior to joining Starbucks, I held senior management positions at ECOM Coffee Group and SIPEF Group, where I was responsible for large-scale coffee and commodity operations, sustainability certifications, and international trade.
Beyond my professional responsibilities, I am deeply engaged in social development initiatives and farmer empowerment programs. My work is driven by a genuine passion for coffee and a strong personal connection with the people behind it - farmers and communities who dedicate their lives to coffee. This connection shapes my commitment to inclusive leadership and to creating lasting, positive impact across the global coffee value chain.
I am joining the International Women’s Coffee Alliance to actively support its mission of empowering women throughout the coffee value chain, to share practical field-based experience, and to collaborate with like-minded leaders in building a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable future for coffee.
Looking Ahead
Jeff and Masyitah each bring distinct strengths, but they share a common thread: a deep respect for the people behind coffee and a belief in collaboration as a driver of meaningful change. Their voices will help guide IWCA as we continue to grow, support chapter-led work, and strengthen connections across regions and roles.
We’re grateful to welcome them to the IWCA Global Board and look forward to the insight, care, and leadership they bring to this next chapter.
